Kinetic typography maker

Animated text with real timeline control: fade, rise, pop, typewriter, and karaoke effects on your words.

No download. No account. No credit card required.

Kinetic typography lives or dies on timing, and timing needs a timeline. Motion Text gives every text layer explicit start and end times, five motion presets, and per-layer typography, size, position, and color. Your words move exactly when and how you decide, not when a template decides.

Build the piece the fast way: hand Director your script and a mood, get a paced first cut, then art-direct it. Scene backgrounds animate with Ken Burns moves, transitions cut or crossfade on the beat, and brand kits keep the type and palette consistent across every video you publish.

Five motion presets

Fade, rise, pop, typewriter, and karaoke. Apply them per layer or across the whole piece in one action.

Frame-accurate timing

Drag and trim text blocks on the timeline with 0.1-second snapping, keyboard frame stepping, and full undo.

Complete visual treatments

Grain, vignette, overlays, and matching caption styles land together, so the result looks designed rather than assembled.

Brand kits

Save your typography and accent colors once; apply them to every text layer of any project in one click.

Formats for each platform

The same project exports to every one of these: set the canvas, or build once and create independent 9:16, 1:1, and 16:9 variants in a click. What changes between them is not the resolution but where the words can safely sit — each app covers part of your frame with its own interface. Lengths below are what tends to hold attention, not the platform's hard maximum.

PlatformFormatSweet spotKeep type clear of
TikTok9:16 vertical15–34 secondsThe right edge (action buttons) and the lower fifth (caption and handle).
Instagram Reels9:16 vertical15–30 secondsThe bottom third under the caption, and the top strip where the account name sits.
YouTube Shorts9:16 vertical20–45 secondsThe lower right, where the Subscribe and action column overlays the frame.

Questions

Can I use my own fonts and colors?

Brand kits carry your typography and accent colors across projects. Per-layer controls override anything for one-off moments.

Is this After Effects?

No, and that is the point. You get the kinetic-text essentials (timed layers, motion presets, treatments) without keyframe graphs. For broadcast-grade custom animation you still want a pro tool; for social video this ships tonight.

What resolution can I export?

Browser exports match your canvas (1080p by default). Free also queues short 1080p server renders; Pro lifts the length limit and adds 4K, with packaged fonts and assets.

Which format should I use for TikTok, Reels, or YouTube?

9:16 for TikTok, Reels, and Shorts; 16:9 for YouTube proper; 1:1 or 4:5 for feed posts. You do not have to choose up front — build once, then create independent variants for each format in one click, and reposition type per variant where the crop needs it.

Why does my text get covered by the app's buttons?

Every vertical app puts its own interface over your video: captions and profile links along the bottom, action buttons up the right edge. Motion Text draws title-safe guides for each aspect ratio so you can see the danger zones while you position type, rather than discovering them after you post.
